As some of you are aware of, I'm the street team leader here in Mass for Strange Music. The entire goal of the street team is to get the word out about Strange Music as a label to people who maybe unfamiliar with them. After Tech N9ne dropped "All 6's and 7's" Strange Music because much more talked about in the masses. I noticed so many new faces at shows this year, and it was awesome. The label in my opinion has been slept on, and my job is to get as much information out there as possible. Currently I have 5 solid street team memebers. (Who are amazing) and about 10 who are interested. I am looking for more people to help out the street team. It does take work, and time, but it's an awesome time. The basic "job" that is expected is as follows:
-putting up flyers, posters, snipes, and creating retail displays
-taking pictures of all your work and submitting it to the label (via an online website : www.strangemusicstreetteam.ning.com )
-coming out to shows to do promo (most times for local shows I can get my team listed as long as they promote the show they are attending)
-online promotions (via facebook, twitter, blogs etc)
-transportation - to pick up promotional materials
It's fun, and you get to know what's going on with Strange before everyone else does!
