Here's a breakdown of what to expect tonight:

NORTHBEAST Regional Slam is a competition between some of the top poetry teams in the north east who have or wish to compete in the National Poetry Slam (NPS). The winning and placing venues will have a guaranteed spot in the 2012 NPS competition taking place in Charlotte North Carolina.

This years NorthBeast regional is taking place in Worcester, MA at the Poets Asylum (a competing venue at the last NPS).

Tonight is the team competition slam. 2 bouts, 4 teams in each bout.

7PM Bout: Worcester vs. Manchester vs. Mill City vs. Lizard Lounge

9PM Bout: Cantab vs. Providence vs. Portland vs. Jersey City

Tomorrow night, at the same venue, is the individual slam competition. The highest scoring poets from each team will go against each other in an 8 person slam, each team being represented in the final slam. Winning and placing team guarantee their venues spot at NPS next year.
